Over the years, I've made my share of mistakes, bad predictions, sloppy diction, misspelled names, and the like. This isn't about that.
In general, those errors are preserved here, since this is an archive. The texts here are mostly those from my files, rather than the publication's, so they may be slightly different from what appeared in print. By and large, I've been blessed by good editors who improve my work, but the logistics are simpler when I work from my own files.
One typographical problem here is quote marks. The usual html method
looks "like this." But they look better like this.
The
problem with the latter method is that they don't format properly when a
quotation continues to the next paragraph. So if you see problems with that,
feel free to email me and advise as to which entry has the problem, and I'll
try to fix it.
Another typographical issue is that newspapers generally put book titles in quotation marks, and other publications use italics. I've tried to make that adjustment here, but I'm sure I've missed some places. Again, if you see a problem, your email pointing it out is welcome.
My email address is ekquillen@gmail.com. Note that is is not edquillen@gmail.com -- somebody else got that one before I got a gmail account, so I used my initials.
